Left 4 Dead 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the 2008 game Left 4 Dead.
The game was released for Microsoft Windows, Xbox 360, and OS X in November 2009. A Linux version was released in July 2010.
The game is set in the fictional town of Hardwood, Georgia. The player controls one of four survivors who must fight their way through increasingly difficult levels to escape the town.
The game features four different gameplay modes: Campaign, Survival, Versus, and Scavenge.
Campaign mode is the main mode of the game. It can be played alone or with up to three other players. In Campaign mode, the player must fight through five levels to reach the safe house.
Survival mode is similar to Campaign mode, but with only one level. The goal in Survival mode is to survive for as long as possible.
Versus mode pits two teams of four players against each other. One team plays as the survivors, and the other team plays as the zombies. The goal of the survivors is to reach the safe house, while the goal of the zombies is to prevent the survivors from reaching the safe house.
Scavenge mode is a competitive mode in which two teams of four players compete to see who can collect the most gas cans. The gas cans are used to power up generators. The team that powers up the most generators wins the game.
